They succeeded in getting them implemented and yet they are still b****** PROOF they will NEVER be satisfied ! Let me set this unbelievable scenario up. Here is a direct quote from Lincoln rohn
What part of we already have them in many parts of the state doesn't Lincoln Rohn get??
OK ...........so maybe he doesn't want to travel to spots in Michigan where they are in place (but he will travel to Iowa ) so lets hear from someone who lives in on of those areas.................. I tell you what lets here from the poster boy of the whole MARs movement. The person who claimed MARs made his hunting so much better . Most people already know who this person is but as a refresher, that person is Clay Mcnitt. Remember all the talk of all those monster bucks MARs supposedly created for him to harvest in Leelanau county? Remember him being used to show that with MARs in place hunters would flock to Michigan? ..............DID SOME ONE LIE TO US?
Here is Clay's reply to Lincon Rons quote posted above !
You can't make this stuff up folks

No question someone did. There was a Ryan someone that went on MOOD tv and made claims that if MARs were implemented it would draw hunters from other states to the area . Now it appears the central players in this MARs game are leaving those same areas with MARs for what they say is better hunting else where . I think it is becoming clear what this big push for MARs was all about !

Yep , a bunch of bullies that are afraid their neighbors might shoot their buck! Hilarious Clay Mcnitt is now whining and crying his hunting is so bad he has to leave the state to hunt bucks that meet his standards when his story before the MARs were passed were how great it was in Leelanau

Selfishness and greed. Me, me, me is all they are about. NOT what can I do for deer management in Michigan, but what can deer management do for ME. With CWD raising it's ugly head in Mid-Michigan, there should be NO talk of MAR's or pro-choice until we get a handle on the extent of this dreaded disease.

I just have to say this, there is no shortage of big bucks in Michigan. All the crying about the lack of eight point and bigger deer is just plain deceptive and they know it. Last fall I paid particular attention to the big bucks on Mike Avery's Facebook page, the pictures in Woods and Waters magazine, Michigan Outdoor News and ALL the State-wide buck poles. There is definitely NOT a shortage of nice bucks.
I have an idea, maybe the MDNR-Wildlife Division should REQUIRE through regulation, that ALL bucks eight point and bigger be checked. This would once and for all end the talk that Michigan is the worst state for deer hunting in the Mid-West.
The mandatory extreme antler point restriction have figured out the politician agenda for winning elections. Tell a lie, make it big, repeat it often and eventually it will morph into truth to 62% of the hunters. But it's not funny!

Their constant mantra was that they only wanted to increase the age of bucks by one year. This was never the truth and these quotes and others prove it. MARs is and has always been about trophy hunting. Their majority, 62%, is just as false. The last effort of card tricks did not work so watch out, the next time the game will be done with a deck that is even more deliberately stacked in their favor. CWD seems to be of no concern to them as long as they have trophy space on their walls.

Here is another quote from the same thread by Chad Chrysler who is another big player in the push for MARs
What about the NWLP Chad ? You know the area you and your gang promised would be a big buck utopia if hunters would just vote for MARS Miles of lightly hunted public land in the NWLP that should be a haven for big bucks if MARs worked the way you claimed, Why aren't you looking there for the big buck hunting you desire? Could it be you and your gang just made up all those claims about MARs and how it was going to create such good buck huntingsmiley-signs011 .
And more from Lincoln
Lincoln did you forget about the MARs you and your gang conned hunters into voting for in the NWLP? Yet you are going to Iowa for the hunting you and your gang claimed would be created with those MARs and still bashing Michigan

Time has a way of bringing out the truth. These 'sportsmen' are not good sports. They are more concerned about what's on the wall than what's on the horizon. Even the 62% figure is a lie, 62% of a non-random survey, not 62% of MI hunters. You must have to spin in order to win. Like DR Jim spinning percentages over whole numbers when going for EMAPRS, now it's whole numbers over percentages in his grasp to maintain his business in the light of CWD in the free ranging herd. It's still all about big bucks to him. Dollars and deer. He is still fighting for EMAPRS, they are more important than stopping or slowing CWD in MI.
1.I would love to see buck hunting there made illegal. In my view that is the only way to get recreational hunters to do what is needed.
2.Suspend all licensing and allow wholesale killing of any antlerless deer at any time with any weapon. Make antlered buck hunting illegal.
3.I never once said that bucks should not be targeted.
4.None of what I said has anything to do with let em go so they can grow. I am describing the most effective means to reduce numbers of bucks over time.
5.The river migration theory is being emphasized simply as an anti-APR argument which directs attention from mechanisms that have a much higher probability. 6.Disease is just a lever to pull to oppose APRs.
7.Absolute nonsense. The main farm family around me that owns hundreds of acres require bucks only hunting. That is the norm in farm country Ridge. You have no idea what you are talking about.

Doehead, I missed that one. Thanks for posting it.
JB is a funny man. My dad when he was alive, and now my brothers, farm over 2000 acres. I know many of the farmers with in a 3 - 4 county area. He is throwing cow chips as usual. (Unfortunately I no longer have access to hunt any of that land. My brothers have been too prolific and too many of their family are of hunting age.)
As a footnote, I just replied to said posted remark and already a little cut from another quarter. Those MARs folks sure can be touchy.

He has lost a lot lately the least of which is MARs. With one of the head MARs people, supposedly, leaving the state that means that they will have to reorganize to lead the charge for the Leelanau 13 action. I expect that there still will be an effort to keep the 13 in MARs in spite of CWD. Look at all the big buck reports that are being encouraged. They never state that the number shown is really no larger than any where else. The lie of big bucks will still be proclaimed no matter how deceiving or dangerous that is.

Nor do they acknowledge that number is no larger than before MARs! They like to tout % that mean very little and are misleading(dishonest) in the way they use them to make the hunting look better( their definition) than it really is

I recommend that a few of you get your facts straight. Lincoln doesn't live in, or hunt in, an APR area. Starting a thread specifically suggesting such in order to slander him and others to misinform your "readership" is irresponsible. I see a few regulars that know nothing of the actual facts that are piling it on as well. Truly sad.

Ok let's get this straight, just cause I choose to go to iowa one year out of ten, to hunt with some family doesn't mean I won't hunt in michigan. I do live and hunt in leelanau, and I shoot better deer under aprs than I ever did pre aprs, as they will and are in the NW 12. I see your approach hasn't changed any regardless of what forum your on. Your a piece a work...

Clay , weather you still hunt in Michigan or not is not the point of this thread . The point is that you still claim the deer hunting in Michigan is sub par and go as far as calling the DNR names because of it . All this after your group claimed if MARs were passed in the NWLP it would become some hunting mecca that would draw hunters from other states and save the mom and pop stores in the NWLP area . Now you are b******* about how poor the deer hunting is and bragging about having to go out of state where the hunting is so much better

It's apparent a few of you guys wouldn't have a thing to talk about on here if you weren't twisting words or making false accusations. This misinformation is nothing new on this site, so it comes as no surprise really. Lincoln or Clay never tried "selling" APR's as creating the next Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, or Ohio. That was a strawman created by your "group" to paint APR's in a negative light. What they and others did, was present an idea that many of us feel would improve Michigan hunting. Some agreed, and some didnt. Life goes on. So should you.

Curt - is - Stoned, You my friend are the desperate one here. You are now resorting to calling me out on a public forum? Whats next, Death Threats? I do not hunt in nor live in the APR zone. Actually our property is 8 miles south of the southern NW12 boarder. You are delusional and refuse to see the facts for what they are. Very sorry that we are asking you to pass up spikes and 4 points Curtis. As a grown damn man you should be ashamed of yourself for supporting free will harvest and anything goes deer hunting. What, high tech equipment and liberal bag limits are not enough for you? You can use a cross bow, a high speed modern bow, a long range muzzleloader, shot gun or rifle and use range finders, trail cameras and endless scent control products to give you a high tech advantage over the whitetail so you can pick off spike horns at free will. APRs have Zero to do with EHD or CWD. If anything this will help put more pressure on the doe populations and help actually reduce herd numbers overall. Why do you suppose they have restrictions in the TB zone? Your over inflated ego is getting annoying and its time that you join the 21st century and get with the program or you will be left behind with your box full of grubber bucks to look at when your old and angry at the world because you can't shoot spike horns anymore. Maybe I will see you in Iowa this fall.
Make this the best day ever! Good Day Lincoln Rohn

MICHIGAN DEER HUNTING IS DOOMED!!!!! I call BS! Let em go and let em grow is all about overinflated egos, only thing is the egos are never satisfied. Nobody is calling you out, unless you think they are, Linc, They are simply stating FACTS. Or is somebody else posting for you? "Either they start managing for the 62% " 62%? On a non-random stratified survey??? Not very realistic, eh? Stale Linc, very stale. You follow Dr Jim too closely, you sound like him....a bitter man

But you do seem to slam Michigan and the MI/DNR; I agree Lincoln, just completed my Iowa application yesterday, our states deer management is a poor excuse. How many states actually have a process for the majority of hunters to change the rules for better management, cause they(dnr) is to chicken I am an idiot for using that word to. Guess I'm glad the process is there, but it's like they are living in a bubble. Every state around us has better hunting than we do. So long as the NRC is lopsided towards FB politics, I don't expect much change. Now with cwd the future don't look bright to me. So you shoot better deer and still are not satisfied. it doesn't seem like it's the DNR's fault here, Clay, it's yours. So you are not satisfied after all of your bragging about your trophies, let's just make it a 4/4 MAPR for the whole state. That is what you want is it not?

I have great hunting under aprs. With Michigans 100 days of hunting I should have no problem filling my tags locally and still hunting a week in iowa. I just think it's sad that it takes a supermajority from a hunter led coalition to make a positive change. 80 % approval rating after 6 years of aprs in 045. 8 out of ten people approve of aprs, the other two are on your page.... I'm out of here.... Later Curtis.
