According to the DNR there is no need to SSS as they are treated just like a coyote. Although it gets a little nerve wracking when you come across one and doubt yourself on if it is a wolf or not. And yes I have handled one in the past , before the DNR made the announcement that they were coywolves! I also see their tracks now and then (some might be the one they have been tracking ) A lot of things I know(or have been part of) are not general knowledge (or even part of the official record) that have taken place on the wolf situation here in the L P. On one hand now I wish I would have perused some things a little further. But on the other hand I am thankful I didn't .........................................................

With the ice bridge that was spanning the straits this year, I would think that it would be a given that wolves are in the lower. My brother said that he saw an icebreaker trying to move ice below the bridge this afternoon. I can hear the DNR now. We hear and see no wolves and no cougars in the LP, therefore they do not exist!
