Michigan Wildlife Council to meet Friday in Clare
The Department of Natural Resources today announced that the Michigan Wildlife Council will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Jay’s Sporting Goods, 8800 S. Clare Ave., in Clare, Michigan.
Agenda items include:
Financial report.
Discussion on website development and disseminating council message.
Proposed budget for operational plan.
Public Appearance Guidelines review and approval.
Update and discussion on Request for Proposals.
Public comment period.
Meeting schedule for 2015.
Persons wishing to address the council during the public comment portion of the meeting may register with Wendy Ledesma, assistant to the Michigan Wildlife Council, by calling 517-284-6056 or emailing ledesmaw@michigan.gov. Each individual will be limited to three minutes. Registration also will be available during the meeting.
The Michigan Wildlife Council is a nine-member public body established by Public Act No. 246 of 2013. Members are appointed by the governor and subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. Created by the Legislature to oversee the expenditures of the Michigan Wildlife Management Public Education Fund, the council will work to promote the essential role that sportsmen and sportswomen play in furthering wildlife conservation and to provide education about hunting, fishing and taking of game.
