Chris, I don't know where to put this. Maybe you could start a thread of questions we need to start asking our Wildlife Division and the NRC.
My first question is; In Brent Rudolph's presentation at the June 13Th NRC meeting, it was admitted that only 50% of hunters in NLP (zone 2) supported MAR's in the 2012 Annual Deer Harvest Survey, (page 29 of the NRC Policy Committee on Wildlife and Fisheries). My question is; How did they achieve a 68 1/2% approval rate in the NW 12 County MAR's survey? It would be impossible without manipulation, deception, bias and therefore corruption!
If we can't get answers from them, maybe we need to take this to the REAL politicians and the AG.

Yes I agree........will try to put something in the private forum later tonight for us to discuss about some strategy on all this.
Brent seemed to indicate to the commissioners that they(the DNR) plan on gathering new data on all this that over the next year...........seems kinde late in the game for that.......either that or he was just telling the commissioners what he thought they wanted to hear.

Chris, I listened to the meeting that my daughter recorded for me. The Wildlife Division, Brent and Russ have been hinting at uniform Mars regulations for some time. This has been supported by statements from NRC Commissioners Rex, J.R. and John Madigan. I trulely believe that they are going to wait until the LPDMI comes before them and then announce a 3 point/4point compromise for the whole state. Many people approve of this agenda even some of the MSH. I do not, and will fight this to the end. I have also been told that MSH have lost support because I am too radical, militant, a loose cannon. I will admitt that I am very passionate about this issue as I was with the baiting issue, the full inclusion of crossbows and the Moose hunt. This issue has not one thing to do with me. I practice voluntary APR's and do not hunt in the NW 12 County area. My objection is to the underhanded approach that the pro-MAR's group has brought to the table, and the corruption that I see happening by the Wildlife Division and some NRC members.
Our problem seems to be money. I have already spent approx. $2500.00 out of my own pocket, (actually my wife has been very generous). I have tried to get as much out of the media as possible but that can dry up fast. Lawyers cost money and the only remedy I see is the Legislature. This issue does not resonate with many people in power.
I think we should try to get support for a memorandum on deer hunting licenses. I have already went on record by saying that if the NW 12 passed I would not purchase a deer hunting license this year. I wonder how much support we could generate in this area. I'm just thinking out loud Chri, thanks for listening. Curtis

I agree that the legislature is the best course of action. I do wonder about the other 4 commissioners also, as far as where they stand.
As far as the legislature, as with the crossbow movement, 1 or more agreeable legislators is a big help. That may be best accomplished by portraying APR's as something not agreeable to 70% of the population, and likely a healthy majority of legislators.

A few letters can never hurt, the substance of the letter might if it comes off such as the the rhetoric of the pushers. We just want a fair game.

daappleknocker, I fully agree with you that MAPRs will be very harmful to deer hunting in this state.
I can not be active at this point because of a family emergency. I will get back here when I can.

I never realised that Anna Mitterling the co-op coordinator...Is also a qdma staff member. The question is where her paycheck comes from. Other than that it is pretty clear the DNR and the QDMA are in bed together.

Read your article in Woods N Water Curtus, very well put. I just wish I could think of things to say like that and if I could I would write in like that but it seems the more I think about what they are doing to deer hunting the madder I get and then I can not put it in words.

Looking at that list, my guess is that at best 50% of them would listen to our side of things.

We can and most likely should blanket all of them with letters and ideas just in case some on the other side can be swayed. There are definitely some from the west side and one from across the straits that are pretty solidly for MARs but one never knows if there is a chance to move things if they see the majority moving our way. The pressure needs to be made on this committee asap so that the NRC might be influenced to see a big snowball rolling down on them if they vote the wrong way. That is how we did it with the crossbow issue but then we had the chairman of the committee on the crossbow side. I have a lot of doubt as to whether the chairman would go our way this time.

I will get mine out ASAP to both the house and senate committees. My neighbor chaired the house AG committee when the crossbows went through. He is a happily married father of twins now.

Ridge, John Matonich is the Chairman and I believe a very reasonable man. When push comes to shove I believe he will do the right thing for the resource.

I have some ideas. Is there a PRIVATE/secure portion of this forum, or can one be created. That was the biggest factor in the crossbow issue. They can not know the what and whens. I am going to try to find out who's who in the current committee's
