One week ago I had the good fortune to spend a week at Bow Camp. It was a time of fun and relaxation except for one event. A large doe was hit in the chest but there was no pass through and no blood trail. I made that shot.
The following afternoon a friend of mine stopped at camp. The surprising thing was that this had happened to him on 2 deer. One was found or taken by a neighbor. My friend's arrow was inside the rib cage. It had not opened. The flesh and hide had closed over the entry hole. It was the same broadhead that he had used on the other deer. It was the same broadhead that I had used and that I had used with the same result the previous year. I thought then that I had made a poor shot hitting a bone that did not shatter as it was seen on a cam a few nights later. The broadhead was a NAP Spitfire. It is now history in our 2 camps as all campers voted to ban them. I still felt sick as I hate hitting a deer and not finding it quickly.
I wrote this here to serve as a heads up. Better hunting to all of you.
(I resighted my bow with a NAP Thunderhead on a carbon arrow. They were used successfully by me in the past. I only switched because of the advice of a different friend who did not show up for this year's hunt.)

Sorry to hear your BH did not function. I am one that only uses a Cut on Contact type BH. I shoot a Lever Action Compund Bow still, my choice of a BH is been a Magnus Stinger 2 Balde 125. So far I have got complete pass thrus when I am afford a Shot. But I only will take a shot if the deer is Broadside or slughtly quartering away otherwise I will pass want high percent Kill Shots. But that is me. Best of Like Next Time Out!
Stay Safe and Good Hunting
