Dear Partners in Service, The 100 cleanups in 100 days challenge begins tomorrow (Monday, June 15th)! Volunteers are the backbone of the Adopt-a-Forest program and we are calling on you to help reach our goal… Many of us have spent the last few months mostly indoors but this summer is a better time than ever to safely clean sites independently, with family members, or in small groups. Most dumpsites are in rural areas, making it easy to maintain social distance while improving your community. Explore the dumpsite database to see what dumpsites are near you. Any dumpsite cleaned will count towards our goal! No matter the size of the haul, we request that you submit progress reports here so your efforts can be counted. Funding for dumpsters is limited and will be offered on a pre-approved basis. If you are planning to clean a large site, or you are a member of an active group and wish to request a dumpster contact Conor Haenni for more information. Visit www.cleanforests.org for more information on the Adopt-a-Forest program, FAQs, field tips, safety tips, etc. Contact Conor Haenni 989-429-5542 with any questions or concerns. Michigan is looking better than ever. Thank you for taking a leadership role in your community, Ada Takacs and Conor Haenni 248-836-7605 Cooperative Programs Developer Huron Pines AmeriCorps Traverse City DNR – Forest Resource Division
