REMEMBER that this year the NRC, in its infinite ignorance, separated the two hunts so that the Youth Hunt is on the 14th and 15th of September. The antlerless hunt is on the 21st and 22nd of September. That means the youth have two consecutive weekends to hunt if they hold an antlerless permit. Good luck to our youth and to our antlerless hunters!
I do mean the last sentence and wish our youth the very best in their hunt. My problem is with the NRC as they have set up 2 weekends of deer hunting with one weekend in between the archery hunt. Given this opening pressure why not just make the 14th the opening of deer season. Also Sunday, the 15th, is the opening of small game season so why the nonsense about conflicts. As far as I am concerned the DNR/NRC again demonstrated their incompetence.
Sorry Young Hunters, I should not have used your page to rant.

Beware I found some misinformation in the Digest in one place. The Youth/Liberty hunt is this weekend the 14th and 15th!
