Today at 3:59 PM bioactive said;
"Currently, every year, hunters making their own choices depletes the herd of mature bucks." "That takes away from the rest of us," "Because we know that when hunters make their own choices" 1: I thought there were no mature bucks. His words not mine. How can you deplete a non-existent resource. 2: How selfish of a statement the "rest of us" is. 3: Is the notorious dr not a hunter? And he wants us to trust his judgement?

"We did that in the early 1900's and the deer herd went down to 45,000 state wide. When hunters make their own choices, they invariably destroy the resource.
Because we know that when hunters make their own choices, free of limiting regulations, they will deplete the resource.
Currently, every year, hunters making their own choices depletes the herd of mature bucks. That takes away from the rest of us, just like hunting with lights, from vehicles, and without limits takes from the rest of us." bioactive-Jim B
These are the parts of the exact post that Doehead referenced. If hunters destroy the resource, who has been buying the licenses and the goods that have supported conservation efforts for decades.
Apparently "mature bucks" exist in the wild herd for the sole hunting enjoyment of bioactive and his group of friends. Are the rest of us supposed to be limited to non-mature bucks whatever they are? If so, why is there a need for MAPRs?
When has legal hunting become the same as poaching or illegal activity? Is it that hunters can not be trusted or is it that only bioactive and his friends should be trusted to hunt deer? When has the wild deer herd become King bioactive's deer?
According to the state of Michigan, the deer belong to all of the people of Michigan. According to the state of Michigan every hunter that has a current license is legally hunting when done within the current regulations. The great majority of hunters make good and legal choices every year. They decide when they want to hunt; what weapon they want to hunt with on a particular day; where they want to hunt; and what they want to kill to put on their family's table. These are certainly legal choices and they do not destroy or deplete the resource. We do not need more regulations on our hunting. We need better management of the deer and of the outdoor resources that we have.

Mature bucks show up on buckpoles and car trunks every year in northern MI. There are just not enough for the amount of trophy hunters out there. Never will be. Man always dreamt of the moon. We were happy for awhile. Now it's Mars we are dreaming about. This post says it all; " I believe Michigan is moving well on its way to becoming a trophy buck state also more so because of the old time hunting philosophy going out the window. Welcome the new age of hunting because it's taking over whether some like it or not."
The way I see it is these young punks are so used to receiving participation trophies growing up, with their mommies wiping their snotty noses and the excrement off of their dirty bottoms, that they now want what they want when they want it...OR ELSE!!!
As far as the disreputable Dr the main reason he is pushing maprs is because he has an audience that believes every word he says.
