I'm not much of a water trapper but several years ago while trapping deeper water I needed a readily available way to stabilize several conibears to stakes for muskrats... Theses are new I just made them... and will readily darken up once left outside in weather for the summer The wedge is attach via a screw eye that's been opened up and will get squeezed around the chain ring Once stake is pushed through spring coil I can position trap depth on stake and angle pretty quick and they readily hold that position with no movement.. These will work for 110 to 330 and stabilize them.. I made 20 wedges from a 30" scrap peice of 2x4

After trying many ways to stabilize 110s for muskrat trapping I found this is the simplest , quickest and easiest way to do it . Been a wile since I used more than a few 110s wile muskrat trapping but have plans on using a lot more again next year. More because they don't have a required check time on them . Plan on spending as much time in the UP as it takes this year instead of just a week . No reason to leave when your line is out and your bringing in 50/60 rats a day like last year. Also might not have the boy with us next year so the added check times may be needed to manage the line.

Sounds like a heck of a trip.. I have trapped ditches here 20 yrs ago where we were carrying out burlap sacks muskrats...
Muskrat and mink can be a hoot.. I was down to a 28 seconds skinning rats back then
Father inlaw would prep em for the stretcher.. and put them on stretcher..
Fun times
