Hunter Safety Class with My Granddaughter

This past weekend I had the pleasure and privilege of taking the Michigan Hunter Safety Class with my granddaughter Zoe. We had a great time and to quote a phrase, Zoe did me proud.
Saturday was spent doing the book work. We did not expect to be outside for this part so we froze. However we survived due to snacking all day long. It was a really great excuse. The book covered safe handling with a variety of weapons, principles of conservation, safe target selection, and the reason for hunting seasons. Most of it was just good old common sense. ZOE ACED HER EXAM!!!
On Sunday we finished the book work and took the exam. Most of the rest of the day was spent with instruction and shooting at the crossbow and rifle stations. ZOE SHOT ALL BULLS EYES!!! The boys did not know what to say. The instructors said that they rarely see a girl shoot so well.
