One thing we know about our NRC, we don't know how they will act on DNR proposals. They have their own agenda. That is a fact. With disease popping up statewide they have more on their minds than antlers. Plus I am sure they remember how many claims over the years the advocates of restrictions have made.
As I recall after the last NRC meeting the mood in the MAPR barroom was quite dim. Now they are slapping each other on the backs, congratulating each other for their hard work. Telling stories of their past strategies.
Just what has changed other than a 10% increase in the NW12 survey results? Nothing. And the results are not final yet. With the PR campaign and all I would have thought it would have been closer to 100%. Hell, they almost had me on the train.
Let's see what the mood is at the bar after the next two meetings.

My guess is the NRC will go with the renewal in spite of the CWD being right on the line of the MARs zone and hope for the best and try to react the best they can if the worse happens . Both bTB and CWD are reasons to stop the MARs movement but there are people like Kroll ( and others )who have their own agenda and are not afraid to do any thing to further that agenda . People like him hold a lot of sway on the political front and have convinced the right people they are some sort of expert on the subject ( not necessarily here in Michigan but other states ) That leaves the NRC with a tough job in deciding the best path forward .
