Ha a youth hunters forum. I truly enjoy working with the youth. Had a young lady hunt my place this yr. I worked with her most the summer at the range. Opening morning had a 6pt skirt us no chance. That evening. Had a massive one jump the fencerow. And run across the plot not giving us a shot. A few minutes later this spike stepped into the plot. I told her he is a legal spike if you want him get ready. She got the hammer pulled back on the encore. I had the binos on him. Also ranged him at 98yds I kept whispering let him turn. And when he did I told her just as we trained. Bury the crosshairs and squeeze. I said anytime (3 different times) before the encore finally barked. Climbing down out of the ladderstand I though I was going to have to catch her.. We found the little guy piled up inside the 40yd line. I gutted the deer and went for the truck.. as we put the deer in the truck I said look. This is the entrance hole. Right were we talked. When we got to the house her folks were there.. and she took her mom over and said look at this mom. Stuck her finger in the entrance wound. Perfect hit she said.. I thought I was going to have to pick her mom up out of the dirt.. Anyway a few photos of the afternoon. And yes she fell asleep lol. We got photos the next day of the spike and her

My granddaughter slept the same way in our blind. Unfortunately nothing came by our stand. Perhaps we were snoring too loud. My cell phone was in my pocket. I have not seen it since. If you do not hear from me, it is because my wife killed me. That is a nice little buck. We call them fork meat because a knife is not needed. They are as tasty as they get.
