Yes I did. I had to replace a part called the transfer bar which links the hammer to the firing pin. I spent an afternoon cleaning it up and now it shoots beautifully. It is really easy to swing and I think it will work well for partridge. It is light, simple and it kicks like a mule. I really like it. Thanks a lot.

Might I remind you that your siblings nor the toilet paper is a partridge or squirrel...

I believe the siblings fall more in the category of beaverlets.

When you say it kicks, does that mean it is a 12 gauge? I have one that looks just like that in a .410. I don't get as much game as when I used my 12 but it saves my shoulder and is tons of fun. A single shot is a great way for any one to start hunting. It teaches the habit of making the most of each shot. Congrats on your first shotgun. It looks like a beauty.

Except the oldest "ski otter " who falls into the category of ingenious donkey.

It is a 20 gauge but I was surprised when I fired it the first time...I have only shot 12 gauge prior to this and this really felt just like a 12. I think it might be because it is very light, right around 5lbs and maybe that makes the recoil more noticeable.
