It's about CWD. Not Mapr's.
So now the battle against CWD entails sustaining the battle for Mapr's and further dividing hunters. Cool.

It is has been obvious since I first took a stand against this stupid regulation push that I was a low-life scumbag to those pushing for them. They are an elite group that wants everyone to hunt like them. Imagine if everyone did, they'd be pushing for more stringent regulations. So it seems that the "anti-improvement" moniker is here to stay no matter the issue. ( TOO many antlerless permits. It's the anti-apr guys' fault!)

I am not pro CWD. I do not want it to spread. Nobody does. I could care less how it got here. It is time to throw this us/them BS out and actually try to show a united front in the battle to control this disease. It is not a time to further divide hunters with pointless banter. Nobody wants to see CWD in Michigan, but it is here and we have to deal with it. So what if Apr's are rescinded in the CWD area. If you are in the affected area and don't want to shoot each and every deer on sight, step back and let someone else do it, and hunt where there are Mapr's. It is that simple.

The bad part is Mapr's won't accomplish what the pushers want. Mapr's may or may not do what they are designed to do. They will not give every hunter a chance at a bigger, better deer, which is what the pushers want.. Their neighbors are still going to shoot them because 2 1/2 year old deer do not grow large enough antlers to stoke their egos. Therefore they will pass on the little 2 1/2 yr olds and wait for their trophy. The neighbor will get the meat.

From one low-life scumbag to another, or as Hillary calls us "deplorables", your post is right on. I am a baiter. I fought for the return of baiting where disease is NOT present. If disease was ever found in my hunting area I would immediately cease and desist my baiting.

It is a FACT that where CWD has infected the herd, MAR's regulations are a detriment to the resource. It is a fact that CWD is found in older males at a rate higher than other cohorts. It is a fact that yearling bucks disperse at higher rates that other cohorts. Because of these irrefutable facts, MAR's should be banned wherever CWD is found despite the politics from the trophy management crowd.

The anti-traditional hunters pushing MAR's as an agenda are like politicians who have no character. They know that CWD is disastrous when present in our resource but will defend MAR's, their trophy agenda, through misinformation and outright lies. Here is a quote from Kenny Darwin, "Fact is culling the herd has NO impact on CWD and only 12% of the white-tail population carries the DNA genetics that allow animals to become infected."  I read everything that I can on CWD and have never seen that in any research paper. It is just another lie to promote a failing agenda.

In fact, MAR's accomplishes only two things. One, it advances many 1 1/2 year old deer to 2 1/2 year old deer. This is not the panacea that they are preaching. Many 1 1/2 year old deer with great genetics are removed from breeding before they are allowed to pass their genes. This allows the yearlings with inferior genes to breed instead. And two, by removing the majority of yearlings from the harvest, the pressure is heightened for 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year olds thus leaving fewer of them to mature to true trophy status. This is just starting to be realized and talked about by a FEW brave MAR's and QDMA advocates.

What they have done is convinced themselves that MAR's is the only solution that will make them happy and so when something like CWD happens it is easy for them to convince themselves that MAR's is the only answer to that also. When you have yourself in such a frenzy like they do all common sense becomes lost. At that point the end justifies any and all means
