I said I was done, but I happened to come across this and can't let it go. It was posted on an anti choice website by a "pinefarm2015". .
"What we've seen is 3 generations of too many Practical Sportsman's and Michigan Out Of Doors shows. What some still don't yet understand is, many of us have gone out of state to deer hunt and even more of us have friends and family who live and deer hunt in other states with similar soil and habitat and they have these things called camera's, trail cams, cell phones, smart phones and old fashioned email and they constantly share information with us. And like those who lived behind the Berlin Wall and saw TV shows with pictures not only of fully stocked grocery stores, but grocery store aisles full of food for pets, after some 15 years of all our out of state friends sharing not "trophy" bucks, but just run of the mill 3 year old bucks, a majority of our Michigan hunters are finally demanding the same, and demanding the Wall come down, by doing nothing more than tweaking existing rules, all the while knowing the existing rules have no basis other than tradition." Now I totally understand.
It wasn't the shows. It was not being spanked as a child when he had his first temper tantrum. Now all of Michigan hunters have to buckle down to his sense of entitlement? Just because he wants what his friends in another state have? I totally get it.

Pinefarm is standing in opposition to the MUCC/Michigan-Out-of-Doors. It was my understanding that the MUCC Board came out as pro restriction. Michigan Outdoors was the original Mort Neff show not Michigan Out-of-Doors. I don't remember either of those older tv shows taking a stance on MARs but I may be wrong. I thought they were just good old fashioned hunting and fishing and outdoor activity shows. Until the urine/scent spat, I do not remember much about politics in those shows. If anything Mort Neff was very pro DNR. Pinefarm's "majority of hunters" also has yet to show up.
Fred Trost was hardly responsible for a mythical 3 generations stance against antler restrictions although it is possible that he might be honored by that designation.

Fred Trost was definitely anti-MAR's. He stated on one show any hunter in the woods for big antlers should not be allowed to hunt. I remember this because I stopped watching his show over the statement, back in the days BEFORE I was enlightened.

Fred also was a guest at a camp that had a 6pt minimum and shot a 4pt. Then he had the top 10 reasons why he shot that buck. I can't remember his reasons, but his host was not amused.
I haven't seen much about their mantra of just letting the deer see it's 2nd birthday lately. It seems to be older deer now, 3-5 yrs. There hasn't been another CWD deer reported lately so they must have eradicated all of the infected deer. It's gone so we can have a buck for every hunter now. Two for some. CWD.....Let it go, watch it grow.

Yes that was at Paul's highly managed QDMA "ranch" just a couple miles from me . Paul is an ok guy for a QDMer but here is a little more info . He is one of those guys that has his own private jet and has hundreds of acres managed by hired hands under QDMA practices. And his hired hands an guests are also the biggest braggers on the tip of the mitt facebook page. Paul has had his property managed under QDMA for decades and yet when I talk to him he still complains about not having many big bucks on his hundreds of acres ( his ranch has enough year round habitat that a deer doesn't have to leave his ranch ever) and since MARs have been in place he still says the same thing . Although now his mantra is " We have a lot of young bucks and now that the neighbors can't shoot the small ones, next year ........." . Sound familiar ?
